About the Artist

I started sculpting around 1992. My first media of choice was Greenhorn Limestone, which is native to Kansas. I started out mainly doing Bird Baths, but then began to do additional works in Alabaster,Chlorolite, Calcite, Satin Spar, Travenstine and I still use Limestone for all my outdoor works.

My works are done in an abstract nature. This allows for the mind and soul to feel the work, versus the work saying "THIS IS WHAT I AM".

As you move around the sculpture, your feelings will change and you will see it differently each time you pass by. I often make the comment, "You are not simply buying one sculpture but a thousand." As you experience life in its many blisses and hardships, so will your sculpture and how it moves you.

I think you will find something that touches you and changes the way you feel by the way the piece will talk to you.

Presently I have works in Private Collections around the US and the rest are held by individuals who felt the piece talked to them.

Thank you for considering a Shannon Sculpture.

Sincerely,

Randall E. Shannon
